Its been just wonderful these last few days. Especially since I clipped faces and the puppies now look like little 'people'. You can see their expressions and they are just so special!!

Every day when they wake up they barrel out of the whelping box and rush about madly, stop to pee and then continue to rush about like they're just had new batteries put in. Smile

One puppy always manages to stand out. Navajo is the one. He really is my favourite. He will whine for attention but somehow, without even noticing it, I end up with him in my arms or in my lap. He's right here now. This afternoon after being out with Michael seeing sites, we got home and took apart the whelping box, rearranged the pen and put in all clean paper etc. While I was in the pen cleaning I had them running rampant around the dining room. They really were going bezerk out there. Freedom! You know how it is. They attacked my jacket hanging off the chair. They attacked my slippers (sheepskin). They rolled around on the rug. They peed and pooped in a couple of places... Tongue 2

Then I put them into the new pen, they explored the new decor.... and one by one they dropped off on their little 'bedding corner'. Navajo managed to fall asleep right next to me on the other side of the pen... making me feel like I just HAD to pick him up. So here he is... on my lap, head resting on my right arm as I type, his little head bouncing along with the keystrokes. He really is the sweetest. Not that they arent all... but somehow this boy has stolen my heart. He is sold already. I sold him on purpose or I would have kept him. But the good news is he's going to live close by so I will see him often and a friend of mine will be grooming him. His new family is wonderful.

Anyway. Things to do. Puppies to kiss.

Today the weather is a bit dicey. Its windy and sunny and still and rainy. But in one of the bright sunny, warm spots I decided it was time to take the pups out for their first introduction to the big world (and grass!).

I let them run rampant around the yard as I set up a large pen for them in the back dog yard (the safe one I use as a puppy yard when they are older). On good days when I'm home I'll put them out there for some fresh air now.

I must say... they turn 5 weeks tomorrow and I cant believe how fast they're growing and developing. I gave them all some chicken frame last night and they quickly grabbed onto it and started gnawing on it! Amazing. And they're eating so much now! LOL

Pagan still has a bit of milk and she fed them a bit last night. I swear all together they're as big as she is now when they lie up against her! LOL And their teeth are like needles. I really felt sorry for her last night but she was so good, lying there quietly while they sucked the life out of her!  Tongue 2

Below are some pics of them eating the raw chicken, and then flaked out after their first grass experience!  Smile

Looks the tribe had fun with the chicken  Smile

I bet they had big fun outside on the grass..............they sure sacked out afterwards, I am sure they are ready to go again..............puppy fun.........love it!!!!!!!!!!! Wish I was close enough to come and play with them, as they are at such a fun/learning stage of life right now.............enjoy it, as it is gone all too fast.

We had our first bit of chill in the air this morning........the Poodles love it, long sleeves for me, soon time to put away the shorts/tank tops and bring out the sweats/jeans  Wink

Looking forward to more pictures as the babies grow up.

They got another quick run outside this morning while I cleaned out the pen. Turns out one of them has the runs - outside, not in the pen so I dont know who it was.... I think the new pet mince I switched them to isnt agreeing with them. I'll have to keep an eye on them. Up till now I've been feeding them beef mince from the shop I buy my own meat and the dog's chicken. I've also been buying pet mince (a mix of beef and lamb) from a butcher for the older dogs. Yesterday I gave the puppies two meals - one with the last of the human grade mince mixed with the pet mince, and the second just the pet mince. Maybe its too fatty for them? I'll have to watch and see. He said he can make it up with less fat if necessary, but from what I know puppies do need a bit more fat in their diet than grown up dogs...

I havent introduced them to dry food yet. So far just the chicken frames a couple of times, the mince mixed with vegetables, yogurt and a supplement.
