Lakota has gone to her new home... It was so sad saying goodbye to her, but she is so happy and has already fit well with her new sisters. And at least she's close and I'll see her often.

She went yesterday afternoon and this morning Deb sent me these photos. One is Lakota with an old bone she found and the others show her sister Chewbacca following her around keeping an eye on her.

I'd tell you all about it, but I'll let Deb tell you herself. I invited her to join the PR.

Oh Zefi!

Let me be the first to say that it looks like she has found a wonderful home!  I'm glad she has a "big sister" to show her the ropes too.  That will make things so much easier! Smile

She is adorable!  I know you'll miss having her little face around but at least she's close and hopefully you'll get to see her from time to time! Smile

Deb has joined, but so far she's been silent. And they've decided to keep her name Lakota and call her Kota for short. Smile

Yep this is always a happy/sad time here also when puppies leave for their new homes, like you I hate to see them go..............but when the little buggers are escaping the ex-pen everytime I turn around making a general mess in the house...........its time  Wink

On the plus side by the time puppies leave here I have made new friends and look forward to hearing/seeing how the puppies grow up and adjust in their new homes! I am sure yours will all be just fine and the new owners will have a lot of fun to look forwards to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Won't be long before brownies arrive, SP litter due around Halloween............everyone get to thinking brown names, first brown litter all had Bittersweet in their names, second litter were named after chocolate candy.........Mon Cherie Baby, Devine Rufus Brown,A Taste of Nirvana,A Bit of Valhrona, Willy Be Brown(after Willy Wonka & the Chocolate factory),the others... the owners named....so names will soon be needed again  Hershey Kiss  Hershey Kiss

I love the name game!  Do we have a theme yet?

Do you have the vet do a pup count before they're born?  We took our black girl, Cinder, in before her last (and final) litter and it was the most amazing and heart stopping experience.  You never expect to see 14 little bodies shoving each other out of the way! Smile  We still have the x-ray somewhere. Smile  Until then, we weren't sure if she was have more than a handful really because she just didn't seem to be carrying that big.  She surprised us! Smile

Zefi,

Was Lakota the first pup to leave the nest?  And how are the rest of the brood doing? Smile  Are they adorable in the high energy running around like little devils sort of way? Smile

Lakota was the first to leave cause she was going locally. Cheyenne left yesterday, to go join Coralie and Simon in Brisbane. The rest all leave Monday. The house will sure be quiet when they go. Though, as Mindy said, when they rip the house apart every time you let them free, you know its time for them to go! Smile

Sad but true. One on one puppies are wonderful. A group of them is chaos!  Tongue 2

My routine now is: they sleep in crates at night thus avoiding the 'play in pee and poop' sessions we have in the early morning otherwise. I have to get up during the night when someone wants to go out and pee sometimes but not every night. I get up really early and let them out soon as they wake up and need to go. I feed them outside so they can eat and pee/poop out there. If the weather is nice they stay outside with the girls most of the day. If its not nice they get the run of the dining room and kitchen and I have to keep an eye on them and take them out at very short intervals to avoid accidents in the house. Its pretty full on. In the evening I sometimes let them run rampant around the living room - what the heck. The carpet needs steam cleaning anyway!  Wink

Well, we've had Zefi for almost a week and everyone (except Paris - who hates all small things) loves her to bits. She's grown so much in just a week. It's funny that you forget about "needle teeth" until your new puppy is hanging off the bottom of your trousers chewing your ankles!! :

Lakota or Kota just didn't seem to work (too soft a sound I think), so we're calling her by her middle name "Zefi".

I'd love to show off my girls but can't figure out how to put a photo in!!

Welcome, Deb! Glad to see you made it in here! Check the Photo Section to see a post by Mary on how to post pictures here. If you continue to have trouble, feel free to contact me and I'll try to help out. Looking forward to hearing more about your little girl as she continues to grow up. As well as the rest of your own tribe!

Hi Deb!

I'm glad "Little Zefi"  Big Grin is fitting in with the rest of the family.  The pictures posted here on the board with her and Chewbacca are just darling!  I bet she is keeping EVERYONE busy!
