Layla had her first show groom this week. She looks wonderful. Wish I could do a puppy cut as well as this!

She's a knockout! What a gorgeous girl. There is nothing as beautiful as a freshly shaved poo face.
I sure wish I could do that. I've tried a couple of times to get Poco to let me shave, or even scissor, just some of the hair off his fuzzy face, but he won't let me at ALL. He wriggles and leaps and does everything he can to keep me away from him. I'm dying to see what his face looks like under all that fluff! Ah well, we have the groomer coming in a week, so I'll finally get to see what my boy looks like!

Its not easy with a wriggly, Helen. You kind of have to hold hard and firm without holding too hard and hurting the pups with their sore mouths at this age. You sort of have to 'bend' and go with them when they move and persist. Try holding the blade against the face all the time and follow the movement rather than 'jabbing' at them to get a bit of clipping done. I find that way works best. Another pair of hands helps too. When I did Navajo the other day I had to get his dad to hold his back end while I worked on the front! And yeah... there's nothing like a clean face on a poodle!!!!

She's beautiful Zefi. How old does she have to be before you show her? She will melt hearts.

We can start showing at 3 months here, Sandra. They cant gain points till they are 6 months old, but showing them early gives them a great opportunity to learn!

Zefi, congrats she looks like a very promising puppy and beautifuly trimmed. My computer wouldn't load the image of Maya which was dissapointing as I really wanted to compare them - are these the only puppies from your last litter in show homes?

Yes Tracy. These are the only ones in show homes. I prefer to sell to pet homes to be honest, but one of the boys had the best conformation ever and would have made a great show dog! I just cant see why I'd want to keep a boy who was brother or son to both my bitches.
