Zefi and I talked about this last year and I know she'd wanted to enter paintings into the ASATDS for some time now. So, this year, we figured we'd work together and hopefully get her entered! Here is a link to the ASATDS site:

http://artshowatthedogshow.com/

You can look through past year's entries and results there.

A single entry can be for up to 4 works of art.....so Zefi ended up picking the following 4 paintings of hers to enter:

http://www.eskiepages.com/gallery/artshow.php

Since this is in the USA and they need to be sent to Kansas, we needed to coordinate on this end...so that has been my job. I just got the notification in the mail today about what was accepted and what was not. I've already emailed Zefi, but I knew the rest of you might like to know about this as well....since we all know how beautiful many of Zefi's paintings are....well.....

Of the 4 on that page...3 of them are going to the show!!!!!!!! Yep, 3 out of 4...that's a pretty darn good compliment, I think! Only little penny has to stay home. Frown Poor kid....she's so cute and precious! But, that means the original of that one can be for sale here in the states! Since I have them at my place right now....have to finish framing them and send them off in the next week!

Anyway...wanted to share the great news with you all...AND a huge Congratulations to Zefi for work well done! Lots of :cheers to ya, girl! Smile Smile Smile

We'll have to watch now and see how the judging and show goes! Smile

Judging is Feb 24th.
Then the 1st of March all the pics are 'hung' for public display and this is a big deal, at two buildings. In April for the 6th, 7th and 8th they get moved over to the Kansas Coliseum to be part of the Sunflower dog show Cluster.
Way to go Zefi!!!!!

Thanks EskieMa! (You can see how well informed I am! LOL)

I've been really flat out busy lately doing the usual stuff I do but also painting! I'm in the groove again which is SO good. I am so good at making excuses and putting it off. But Helen suggested I try doing some ACEOs (2.5x3.5in original art cards) to sell on ebay as a way to 'push' me back into painting. Its working. I did some in the last few days and I am getting better at painting that tiny. And I'm enjoying it!

I'm so glad to hear youo're getting more comfortable with the tiny ones, Zefi!  They ARE an adjustment, that's for sure!

Wait till you guys see her teeny paintings of Poodles and Eskies.  They are so neat!  I'm already drooling.

We're all set! The paintings arrived the other day, so hopefully they arrived *safely* and all will be fine. My brother and I made up the frames for these, so they are custom frames. The art show *highly* recommended using clear acrylic rather than glass, so that's what I had cut for the frames. The pictures below are not the best, but can give you an idea how they looked when they were sent out:

I didn't use a flash on the last one, but did on the first two. The last one.....really grew on me after it was framed. I had it setting on a buffet top near the front door for a day or so before boxing it up.....and it was just *stunning*! Absolutely awesome when all presented and displayed. I hated having to send them off, and when I got home from the post office, it felt like the house was so empty. Frown The paintings are beautiful, and I believe they have a great chance of doing well. Let's hope the judges are fair and decent.....

BTW...had to laugh at the ASDS schedule on their site...they have a "hanging party".....guess I find that a bit amusing.... Smile Smile Smile

Anyway....guess we'll know in the coming weeks how things go.....

I cant either Helen! LOL

Which reminds me, I have another one to frame today. I did a black sp head study for the Poodle Club of Victoria - it's been bought as a trophy. Must get onto that today!
