hi
I've spent hours reading Sites & info regarding a Raw Meat Diet. I am convinced this is best, if done properly with all additions for a balanced diet.
My 5mth old miniature 'Cricket' has been fed mixtures of meats, vegies, cheese, oil, etc. Even though she enjoys this, she frequently wanders off a few minutes then comes back ( I don't leave the food down once she has lost complete interest).
However, yesterday I gave her raw minced beef with minimal extras, so I could see her reaction to the pure meat taste.
I was surprised when she took readily to it & finished up the bowl in one go. The same result this morning. Perhaps she finds it easier to digest, as well as the taste of 'Raw'.

They all have their little taste preferences - the only one of mine who will eat vegies is the gutz.  It is easy to get very pedantic about BARF which is not really the intention.  Be careful feeding any meat that does not contain bones, particularly in a growing dog, as it will lack calcium.  Rather than adding this to your food (which can mean you get the ratios wrong and cause problems) feed raw meaty bones and they will get the correct amount of calcium eg chicken necks, frames, wings, turkey necks lamb flaps.

Raw meaty bones, things like chicken wings which have skin, meat and bone, are the best balance of bone to meat.
