We're talking about the BIG event: the national specialty.

Thank you for the information. I have emailed direct to the organisers so we should have some information soon. After that I can start enquiring about prices and so on.

I have had poodles for twenty years. I started with a rescue which was a "cross". Until recently I did obedience and have titled two standards and a mini.Three years ago I bought Jurado Lily Marlene and got into showing. I am very proud of her. She came second to Zefi's gorgeous "Montana" at The Sydney Royal. I also have Laura (10) and mini Panda (Cool. I adore them all.

Hi Carlene,
I'm still making enquiries, just been a bit busy with the Gold Coast Show - damn! she was the only SP entered.
Next project for me is the testing....but the PCA is going to be a goer!

my jurado girl was a very sick little girl, she only lived a couple of very long years in her body...

she had a K9 version of cystic phybrosis... her pancreus just didnt produce any enzymes at all, so she was on a very strict diet and i gave her a spoonful of the enzymes morning and night... she was really happy and healthy most of the time. every 4-6 months she would just crash, (if she even missed one meal, she would crash) she would instantly dehydrate and then i would take her to the vets and they would start her on IV fluids, 2 days later she would be home and it would take me 2-3 weeks to feed her up and get her up and running again. the last time she crashed i honestly think she just didnt have the will to livel. each and everytime before she would just take it all in her stride and bounce back... but this time she really fought me, she wouldnt let me spoon feed her tablespoons of water during the night... by morning when i got her to my vet she was so over it...  i actually thought she had died in the car on the way... but it was so matter of fact and here we go again... she was only at the vets for 4 hours and went into cardiac arrest.. my vet rang me instantly and asked if we wanted to "shock her back"... i remembered the look on her little face when i left her, her eyes were so grey and empty... i just knew she wanted to go...

wow, i havent remembered that in such a long time, thanks for asking...
she has been gone 3 years now....

Hi Carlene, thank you for sharing about your girl,  She sounds like she enjoyed her time with you but made up her own mind about leaving - a typical brown!  I have heard of pancreatic problems with dogs but never the particular disease you named.  It simply amazes me that vets are able to diagnose so many diseases these days - which hopefully makes treating them and prevention (if that is possible) so much easier.  I would love to see some additional photos of your girl some time.

cheers Tracy
