Hi
My name is Roland, and I am new to this forum.  My lover Jeff and I have two dogs; Oden our 7month old standard poodle, and Zeus our 2year old retired greyhound.  Because of the special needs with adopting Zeus, I did something I swore I would never do, become one of those internet people. To my suprise I have really enjoyed being part of my greyhound forum, and thought wouldn't it be great to have the same thing for Oden. So here I am. I look foward to talking to you all.

ThanksRoland

Hi Roland, Oden and Zeus! Welcome to the poodleroom! Oden looks so cute - so young in his 'grown up' hairdo! Smile Hope you enjoy being part of a poodle community though at the moment this one is very slow! Smile

I love greyhounds. You did a great thing rescuing him. Are the boys best friends?

Hi
Thanks. The "boys" are like any other siblings, they want you to think they hate each other, but when you're not watching you can catch them playing or curled up together; and watch out if another dog at the park starts with one or the other Eek  Oden, even though he's the puppy is definately the alpha and Zeus learns all his bad habits from him Tongue Zeus is 2 and came from a rescue. He had no idear what being a pet was. Very well trained, but afraid of everything, and completely surpressed personality wise. People are suprise at how quickly he has opened up, we've only had him acouple months, I think Oden had allot to do with that. He has no fear, and wants to do everything; and anything Oden does must be OK. and god forbid Oden gets out of his sight. I think he thinks he's Oden's dog, Oden certainly thinks so. Pleased
I posted a link to this page on my grey room, I understand it is not an uncommon combo, so maybe we'll get some more folks.
The pics of your poodles are so cute! What's their story's?

Poodles do believe they were put on the earth for everyone to serve them... thats for sure. So having his own 'pet' greyhound sounds pretty much right. I think Montana believes Billy is hers... though Billy just looks at her with a look on his face that says 'give me a break!'. LOL

I have 2 standard girls and one toy boy at the moment. I started with toys, had Scooter and Billy who I showed to his title. Then I got Pagan who I showed and bred, now I'm showing Montana, her daughter. Scooter is now living with friends as he didnt enjoy big white puppies! Smile

I'm not a hairdresser or a dog groomer by profession, but I learn fast and am good with my hands. Plus I have an artist's eye I guess you could say, so I learned to groom my dogs myself. At art school I used to give haircuts too - way out trendy punky style ones!  Tongue

How great is that!
Do you ever do anything fun with their grooms. We've had  mohawk on Oden, and I dyed it Blue with sugar free kool-aid. It turned green quick, I am thinking Purple next time. Tongue

I've always wondered what would happen if I dipped one of my girls in beetroot juice... LOL

Beet juice works too Happy Saw that when I was looking for safe ways to dye him. Think I'll try the food dyes for halloween.
