Oden does not compete in anything Frown We really do not have the time. But I know allot of you all out there do. Whenever we go to the dog park and a new person comes in, they are so suprised at how rough and tumble Oden and any other poodles are. They seem to have this rep that is unfair. Poodle are one of the first water hunting dogs, and here in New Jersey the is even a breeding club that will only sell  you a pup if your are going to use the dog for hunting. So how about some pics of your athletes. I'd love to see them, and you know you want to show them off. Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin
Are there any hunters out there? Let us know.

I don't have any pics like that. I don't have a good camera sorry. In my opinion teaching your dog to be a retriever is a lot of fun. My poodle pics it up fast. You don't need to be a hunter to do it. In my opinion I think it is more fun to teach your dog something that could be useful. Have a good one.

I understand what you are talking about. My Standard Poodle, Sioux is a really tough guy. People are continuously shocked by how out going and playful he is. He can rough and tumble with the best of them.

He swims in the ocean and fetches (sort of) and plays rough with his other big dog friends. He is gentler with his little dog friends. He runs beside my recumbent trike apx 8 miles at a time about 3 times a week. I get back to the house panting and gasping for air and he is ready to go again.

I know I need some pictures but I don't have a digital camera so I am out of luck for now.

Yep, a digital camera is pretty much a necessity when you have a dog these days! Smile I know I didn't think much of poodles when I was young, but I didn't *know* any then either......it was only after getting to know poodles in person that I began to have respect for them...in all ways. I think it's the same with many people...they have this stereotypical view that poodles are not *real* dogs, but once they see a SP in particular, they are often floored by how active and smart they can be.
