The news is good and terrible. Pagan finally had her babies today after much restlessness and much later than I expected. She only had two so the ultrasound was misleading. The first born was a girl, tiny, the size of a miniature baby, with the placenta wrapped around her and she was dead. The second was a boy, twice the size of the girl pup and he was born backwards but is healthy and strong. Pagan is enjoying him and loving him lots. I took Pagan to the vet and had her xrayed to be sure all was well and no more pups. I'm devastated about losing the little girl but I'm convinced there was nothing I could have done. Greg came home early and helped me bury her under a spinning gum tree I bought and put in the front yard. I'm sad there were only the two. But at least Pagan has one baby to love...

Oh Zefi, that is bittersweet indeed. I agree, there's nothing you could have done for the girl, but hopefully Pagan does well and the boy gets all the attention and grows up to be an excellent dog! Anyway....thanks for sharing the pic.....you take care....

Pegan looks so beautiful will her little black pup. Prayers for a speedy recovery, for good health and happiness for Bonnard; and for blessings for his little sister. True heart felt condolenses on your loss. But there is a new life in your home, and I am sure he will bring lots of smiles to your faces.
How to Make Puppy Pie
Take one puppy, roll and play until lightly pampered, then add the following ingredients.....
1 cup patience.... 1 cup understanding.... 1 pinch correction.... 1 cup hard work.... 2 cups praise and 1 1/2 cups fun...
Blend well.
Heat with warmth of your heart until raised or until puppy has doubled in size.
Mix with owner until consistency is such that owner and puppy are one.
Enjoy!

He is soooo tiny. Look at the little pads on his feet, and his itty bitty ears. Too cute.

He's actually a big boy! But so cute! He's been called Brutus and Bruiser by friends who cant remember his name and who know he's a big boy. Getting so chubby too! LOL I just love them at this age (or any age really) cause they are so cute and innocent. Totally irresistable.

Thanks. I think he's adorable. Its killing me to be at work today. I am constantly thinking of him and Pagan and worrying... sigh... Thats what I thought would end up being his nickname - BonnyBoy and BonBon.

Zefi, I'm so sorry to come in here and hear about Bonnard's sister. What a heartbreaker that must have been. I love the idea of her being under her pretty tree. Bonnard is a handsome boy! I can't wait to see more pictures as he grows up. I bet you won't be able to let him go and end up keeping him for yourself. heh heh.

I admit I've been incredibly slack in taking photos of this singleton pup. With the other litters I took photos every week and almost every day. One reason is I usually need a hand to take photos and being black makes it harder to get good shots. The other reason is he's SO fat!!!! sigh.... honestly, that boy is a blob. But I'll be moving his pen to the dining room soon so he can be in the midst of things and hopefully he'll start moving around more and loose some of that puppy fat! And I'll take photos too!
