I recently re-discovered a book in my collection which I'm reading and thoroughly enjoying again.

The View from Under the Table by Pax Kirby about her toy poodle Bonnie. So cute.

So while looking around for other poodle books I found these on ebay:

The new Shirley Kalstone book on grooming. A must!

Anatole and the Poodle (which I also have)

I just recently picked up that Kalstone grooming book.  My hubby was ordering a bunch of stuff on Amazon, so I made him buy me that book too.  heh heh.  Great pictures and information!

To be honest, the previous edition is probably easier to understand and much simpler for beginners and pet owners who just want to learn the basics. I have all three editions (yeah, OK, I have a problem... I'm seeing someone about it... a curly haired psychologist with four legs...)

I always tell pet owners who want to learn to groom to try find the older edition (the red and white cover) if they can second hand. The latest edition is great but it has a lot more coat care and show info in it.

I got a collection of poodle books on Ebay just recently. Mostly older titles including a copy of the Meisen Poodle Manual - some of the information is a bit dated but they are still very interesting & the latter had some very interesting breeding info. I also got a copy of the 1975 printing of the Kalstone book. . I thought there would be enough there to refresh my memory & I was only planning a basic everyday clip anyway. Sounds like I might have made the right choice in not bothering to go for the latest edition given my needs.
