Hi,

It's always nice to find a dog forum especially a Poodle forum. I have two one toy and one mini, and we are expecting Happy.

My first poodle was nearly 20 years ago a little toy rescued, she was great little girl, but in her winter years when we became her parents.

They are wonderful dogs, and we are about to become more serious about our poodle ownership. We are novices to the show world ect... but we are eager to learn.

Our other love are Dachshunds, another German breed and very smart one at that.

We live in Tasmania, and I look forward to getting to know you all.

Hi Quoll and welcome. Where in Tassie do you live? Tell us about your babies and about your new show baby!

I'm more than happy to help you with anything to do with showing. The more the merrier I say!

Hi Zefi,

We are in the south of the state the Huon Valley not far from Cygnet. Or about 35mn from Hobart.
Our toy silver girl is 4 years old she was desexed at a young age, like wise our Mini, we bought him from T Sward, and he was also neutered at a young age. gee it s sounds awful to say this but every thing we have is neutered lol.
This is indeed a big step taken as a result of frustration in the search of a mini poodle. (I must stress at this point how happy we are with our mini boy from Tami.)
We are currently awaiting our little mini girl a white from QLD, we would like to show her and in time have a litter and take it from there, One step at the time.
Genetics are a very important aspect in our plans we are aware of recessive genes, dominant genes and inheritance,  as such DNA testing will be a must. Our girl is from imported bloodlines all "A" rated and we will keep it that way. Temperament is also a "major" importance.
baby steps for us.
First and foremost this new addition will be an equal member of our family and treated like all our other babies. Enjoy lots of outings fun things the beach and be an inside dog naturally.

I would love any help regarding showing, I do not know how to stack, I actually I know very little in the dog show dept. Thank you so much for offering.

Sorry long post.

It was nice to meet you at the show yesterday Michele! Hope we didnt overwhelm you and put you off showing! Smile Its so much and so daunting to be starting out, but we'll all help. I like going to shows and doing the social thing.

Of course if you arent showing its so much easier... no nerves! LOL

I love the Huon Valley and sometimes wished I'd bought down that way. Its so much closer to Hobart than I am here... But that southern outlet and the mountain.... not a nice road to have to drive to work every day in winter.

It was a great day, had such a good time. No fear you have not put me off, in fact the total opposite, LOL.
Thanks for showing me so much and  the fun side of showing, the people and the social aspect.  And there are plenty of friendly happy show people, contrary to the urban myths. I did nt see any rat sack any where  Tongue 2 Tongue 2 Tongue 2
