Hello.  I am new to this list.  My name is Shannon and I am owned by four Standard Poodles.  Jake was our first.  We bought him at 4 months old - he is now 8 years old and has his CGC, CD, CDX, and we are training now in Utility.  Jarvis was our second Standard.  We bought him at 10 weeks old - he is now 5 years old and has his CD and therapy dog certificate, and we are training now in Open.  Jenny was our third.  We got her from the pound when she was 9 years old - she is now 13.  Jenny is a pampered couch Princess.  I took her through the Beginner training at our club, but it really wasn't for her.  And Jaki is our newest baby - we got her at 8 weeks old - she is now going on 10 months and just starting her Obedience training.  I'm looking forward to talking poodles and learning alot from others on this forum!

Hi Shannon and welcome to PR!!

I'm just starting obedience and agility with Montana - at 3.5yrs! She was too busy showing to do it till now but she loves it. And surprisingly I love it too. I mean I never thought I'd enjoy it, but I do. Well, easy to enjoy agility, its fun. But I never thought I'd enjoy obedience, I thought I'd find it boring. However I love going to the club on Sundays and spending a few hours working with Montana (and soon Bonnard) and working our way up the classes. I'm even thinking of titling her if I can take the pressure! I'm so bad at competitions... I get so nervous and thats one thing dogs dont need!

Where in Minnesota, Shannon? I'm just across the border in Wisconsin, but my girls have all been born in Minnesota and I know a some of the poodle people in the region.

And yes, do let us know your secrets of four SPs. Smile
