Well, the toy poodle that I was to adopt, and which sent me to this website in the first place to learn about the breed. went to a different home.

After making preparations in my home--nice new crate, toys, bowls, etc, I received a voicemail message on the day that I was to pick up Chandi from the shelter saying that she had been promised to another person.

I can't begin to tell you how disappointed we all were.  Oh well...life continues without my little Chandi...

Anway, I really would like to own a poodle as they seem like such smart dogs.  I'll look out for another opportunity to adopt (don't see myself going out at this point to purchase a pup).

In the meantime, I'd like to hang out on this site.  I'm sure there's still a lot I could learn.  ALthough I have large breed dogs currently, I feel that reading the various posts will help me be a good mom to a small breed in the future

Bad luck - hopefully another little dog will come along who needs you to give them a loving home.

Thats so sad. I'm sorry you missed out on the little girl. But I'm sure you'll find your poodle. There are tons of poodles out there needing homes and there will be another for you.

Yes, that's sad news, indeed. But I also agree that the right poodle will come along at the right time. Smile And do feel free to stick around and ask questions or share in your own advice...since you clearly have some experience with dogs...and we can all benefit from sharing in things over time.
