Avatars are not allowed here at this time. (for those not familiar with avatars, they are an image that often sits on the left, by your name....something you can personalize)
Signatures images, however, *are* allowed, and that's what we prefer, is for images to be in the signature area instead. They are posted pretty much the same way as regular post pictures, so once you learn one method, it works in both places. Here is the how-to on posting pictures we added some time ago:
