salutations from a future poodle owner

   Hi all! I don't own a poodle yet; I am window shopping right now !  

I am switching my breed of interest from the APBT(American Pit Bull Terrier) to the Standard Poodle. (What a difference lol)

 I have had APBTs for 14 years.After the loss of my last APBT 2 years ago,I feel I am ready for another companion.

 Shopping for new puppy stuff is fun! So far I have a crate,bowls,chew toys,leash and collar,and a dog bed. Next I will be ordering the clippers,blades,grooming table,etc.from Pet Edge.(It's a good thing I learned how to groom! )
     
  Soon I will have a pup around the house again! I'm excited about it. After I have all my materials,I will do some serious puppy-hunting!

Welcome! And yes, that's a huge breed jump for sure! But poodles are a good breed to jump to! We are probably biased here, but you'd never know it! 

Sounds like you're getting all the vitals lined up, but I'll give you a word of advice....don't expect the spending to be over once you get the puppy.....it usually only begins then! But hopefully you'll have stemmed off all the major stuff ahead of time. Especially good on the grooming stuff! Pretty soon you'll be thinking "with all this stuff....I NEED A DOG!"

Feel free to ask any questions or share any experiences as well. Since you've had APBTs for so long, you probably have some advice and input we can learn from at times too! So, we look forward to your questions, stories...and as soon as the puppy comes into the picture.....PICTURES!

Thanks for the welcome! When I was younger, my mother had Miniature Poodles.I can't wait to show up at her house with the
BIG poodle variety!lol (she is not dog-breed-saavy at all). Grooming will be so fun! I want a white female. Do you know any breeders in PA that are reputable?

Hi. I went from salukis to a standard poodle so that was a bit of a change too- however warning you will become hooked once you have one
