For those who don't know, Zefi and I have a few poodle domains for various purposes. Most of them have a story behind them. This one...the PoodleRoom goes back to the kennel I worked at years ago, where we kept the poodles in one room of the building...thus, "the poodle room"....I always loved the ring of that, so when we discussed our first poodle site together, that's the name we chose. Another domain we have is www.poodlelane.com which is a gateway to some of our other poodle and dog related stuff and some other people's poodle stuff as well. The name PoodleLane came from the sign below. I took this picture on my way up to Duluth last week. I've seen this sign many times, but never had my camera with, but this time I made sure to take it. The building you see in the background is a small bar (pub) called The Poodle Inn, and the road that goes to the right, along the bar, is called Poodle Lane. Thus, the road sign announcing the intersection. I've never been in the bar, and it almost looked like the Poodle Inn part of it was not on the side any more. I hope they're just remodeling and not renaming the place. Anyway, we thought some of you might enjoy seeing this. But it raises the question of other poodle "places" around the world.....places that have some name connection with poodles. Is anybody aware of any others? Especially in your area? Anyway, enjoy the picture!

I live very near Duluth.  How far away is this sign?  I'd love to get a picture of it myself!  Wink

Funny Neo! Maybe you can go paint the sign to what it should be! Smile

Shannon - where are you at? The Poodle Lane sign is between Gordon and Solon Springs (I think it's between those two.....but in that area) on hwy 53 (south of Superior, in WI). It's on either side of the road, so you see it going either way. This is sort of nowhere-ville along that stretch of hwy, but it's a neat surprise for anyone interested in poodles. I can give you more details if you want, but that's basically where it is. Send me a pm or email if you want more info.
