Not having kids, I cant give you any advice. But I agree with your husband... having two babies at once will probably be too stressful. Best to wait a couple of years perhaps.

A few years is too long, but I may wait a few months. Wink I groom other's dogs and I also do pet sitting now,so it won't be as big of an upheavel for me to handle a pup as it may be with a first-time dog owner. But I would not recommend this to most people, though.

when i had my children ( a hundred years ago) I had an old english sheepdog.. so the maintenance was very high with 2 children under 2 years... i was soooo exhaused, the dog was groomed/brushed every night no matter what, if I had the choice to do it again, I wouldnt... after I lost my old english darling girl I waited till the kids were in high school before my first poodle found me, that was four poodles again.. we are now empty nesters and have 2 standards living in very close quarters in the city and I work full time so whatever time we have we spend with our dogs.... you just dont have any other option, thats what responsible dog ownership is all about..

I dont think I could live without poodles in my life. When I had to leave Timmy (my first toy poodle) with my dad in Greece to move to Australia I would get so depressed and miss him so much. Now I write and have two white standards lying at my feet and a toy lying by the fire. I love that.
