Hi Everybody!

I'm so happy to be here!  Thank you Zefi and Michael!

I am Helen and I live in Phoenix, Arizona with my hubby and two Standard Poodles.   Chula is the love of my life.  She is 6 years old, a White Standard, and she is just the BEST girl in the world.  She's smart, funny, loyal, and beautiful.  She's pretty chubby from 3 years on prednisone for her thrombocytopenia.  But we have a new vet who is slowly taking her off the pred and we are hoping for the best!  Our other SP is Archie.  Archie is a Silver, 3 1/2 months old, and we got him after our dear Echo (Blue SP) went to the Rainbow Bridge.   We miss Echo deeply, but Archie is so full of laughter and boundless energy that he is keeping us on our toes!

I'm looking forward to spending time with everyone.

  Welcome Helen!

I used to spend alot of time in Phoenix way back when.  Went to visit my sister in Mesa last year and boy, everything has grown sooo much!!!!   I am sure that where she lives now is where I used to do some 4 wheel off-roading.
Stay safe during the monsoon(s).  Smile

Kisses from the pups backatcha, Zefi!  I'm still thrilled that you guys decided to go with the forum style!  I get lost in the email lists!

The forum that Zefi was talking about is www.wetcanvas.com   If anybody here is into art, then you'll love that place.  I'm "atapaz" over there, in case you drop by. Smile

Mary, isn't it crazy how this area has grown?!  I barely recognize it anymore.  They say that Phoenix is the 5th largest city in the US now.  I believe it.  It's sprawling out everywhere.  I miss all the fields of cotton and alfalfa, and the desert keeps getting pushed farther away as they keep building all these housing tracts and shopping malls.

Too bad they can't do something about this HEAT.  Ugh.

Yes, Helen....we went with this format for a reason. Personally, I hate email lists! Just can't keep up on them, and they bog my mailbox down and so on. And so many things get repeated unnecessarily. I long thought a message board format would be ideal and after the Ultimate BB was out some years ago, along with vBulletin, I found a Jeep group I dealt with was using a UBB, and loved it. That made me want to try something like that for eskies, and by the time I got to it, there were lots of other board formats coming out. Clearly a popular format. We've had the Eskie Board going for nearly 4 years, and we're 600+ members, 60k posts, and more over there so far. I am hoping this becomes a great resource here as well. Board formats have lots of advantages over email lists for sure. Especially that people can come read and post as it works for them, even if it's only once a week or month. Try that on a mailing list. Smile Anyway, we do hope it works well here too.

Zefi's told me about WC in the past, so I have looked around a bit. I love artwork, but am not really an artist myself (though I did enjoy art classes in HS and that), so did enjoy looking around. Smile

I've never been to AZ (yet), but have been out west to Nevada, California, Colorado and that. I've mainly stuck around the big pond up here....Lake Superior. Smile But it is nice seeing other parts of the country/world. I don't know if I could stand the heat in that part of the country. I think it gets too hot up here! Roll Eyes

You know we have a chat room here too, right? I've been using the chat room on the eskie board for a long time now to chat with Michael and I have to say, for someone who would never be caught dead in a 'chat room', I love it. Of course having a dog/poodle specific chat room is SO different to the chat rooms I'd heard about in the past!  Big Grin

Zefi, you are as Evil as Michael!

I used to spend a lot of time in this one chatroom.  It was fun cuz I knew everybody.  That's the only way I like it.  It's been years though.

Can't try it out right now because hubby and I are going to go watch the Dog Whisperer.  That's the only show he'll watch with me!
