Hi I have just registered with your site and wanted to introduce us. I have a standard poodle named Bertie who is almost 7 months old now. I'm not quite sure what colour he will be when matured. Mum was blue but dad was silver. Bertie had a silver snout when I first saw him at 8 weeks old and according to stuff I've read online that means he will be silver. He is definitely changing and up his legs is looking quite silvery on the ends. I wait with interest to see what colour my little snoodler turns out. I previously had a beautiful chocolate boy called Alfie who died much too young earlier this year as a result of a tumour. I still miss him so much - he was wonderful.

Bertie too is just lovely - very poodle like with that same poodle bounce and energy but grown up beyond his years. He was born half-trained with an instinct to sit at the feet of new people he met and offer his paw. He's a real joy, charming and sweet and seems to love every other dog and person on the planet - no side to him at all. I don't have great pictures of Bertie at the moment but I will try to upload something if I can work out how to do it.

Hello and welcome to you and Bertie! He sounds like an amazing boy and from what you say, he will definitely be a silver. If he was blue he wouldn't be looking silvery at this early age.

I live in Tasmania with only two poodles now, Montana and Romeo. Its been a bad 12 months for us. We lost Pagan (my first standard girl) and both Billy and Scooter (toy poodles).

Welcome to the poodle room, though lately its been so quiet here. I think Facebook and Twitter killed it!
