As you may have poked around on the site a bit by now, you have probably seen the "Library". Clearly, it's just a small sample of what we hope to have in the near future. We mainly just pulled the info off Zefi's site for now. And for breed info, I cheated and just added a link to PCA's breed info page. We'd like to continue fleshing out our own sections and information, and hope to have a quality collection of poodle/dog related topics here for everyone to appreciate and learn from.
So, this is an open request to anyone who feels they may have an area of expertise or knowledge they feel worthy of contributing to the site here. We aim to give full credit for the articles written and can include links to your own site/email, whatever back to you. But, basically, this is something we want to see built into a nice selection of information. So when people stop here, they have plenty to learn and share with others as well. We would love for this to be the best poodle resource on the net eventually. We will accept just being a "great poodle resource"!
But that means we'll need more articles on worthy topics.
So, if you have anything worth sharing or feel you can contribute on any topic, please let one of us Admin/Mods know. We'll work with you to get the article posted. What we're looking for is anything that poodle/dog people would be interested in reading or learning. Here are some ideas, but we're open to any worthy topics:
Poodle history (basics...we know about Emily's site!...but a nice intro would be great)
An article on poodle colors
An article on poodle sizes
An article on conformation titles and what they mean
An article on obedience titles and what they mean
An article on training a puppy
An article on caring for an older dog
An article on training an older dog
An article on poodles as hunting dogs
An article on poodles as therapy dogs
An article on choosing a puppy
An article on acclimating your new puppy to your home (his new home)
An article on crate training
An article on the various leashes and pros/cons of them
An article on canine nutrition
An article on pet loss and grievement
An article on adopting a rescue poodle
And just about anything else that would be worthy of interest to poodle people (and likely other dog people too!). Any area you feel you could do a worthy article, or even contribute toward one, we'd be greatly interested in seeing. We don't mind duplicate articles on the same topic, as we can keep them all posted and people and read them all and use the ones they feel best make sense to them. Sometimes having more than one perspective on an issue is better than just a single view.
So, we'd love to see more articles in the library in the near future, and know there are some very worthy people in the poodle community. So, feel free to drop any of us a note and let us know if you feel you have something you'd like to contribute. Thanks much!
