Darn it!  Is it possible to get a puppy (Archie) to stop chewing on the other poo's (Chula's) ears?   Confused

They love to wrestle, and Archie loves to pull on Chula's ears.  Because of this, her ears are a MESS!!  We just got out all the clumpy matts that little maniac put in there.

I asked the groomer for ideas, and she suggested making a paste with "Alum" and putting it on Chula's ears.  Heather said that Archie won't like the taste at all.  So I picked up some Alum and just now put it on Chupey's ears.

Guess what.

HE LIKES IT!!!

He's standing there LICKING her ear hair!!!

ARGHHHHHH!!!!

Help!  Does anyone have any good ideas?

LOL!!! I have no ideas! I tried putting wasabe on something to deter Pagan and she liked it! And then I tried cayenne pepper on possum poop for Scooter but he liked that! LOL

ROFL!  Unfortunately, my two find such things (as Bitter Apple spray and the like) to be condiments!   I am able to stop it while they're in the house, but once outside . . .

helen,

I guess you could wrap them if the hair on her ears is long enough...

Then there is also the drastic step of cutting them short until he grows out of this naughtly habit....
i have had to shave harry's ears due to a returning annoying ear infections last year.... it does grow back!

good luck

well GEEZ!  You guys are no help at ALL!   Crying  Roll Eyes  Tongue 2  Smile

So I'm not the only one with weird dogs.  Echo used to love the taste of Bitter Apple too!  We used to have this very nice silk tree in the office.  At the base, they had all these wood chips.  I DRENCHED those chips in Bitter Apple and he still loved to chew them up!  We finally had to give the tree away.

I keep telling Archie I'm going to save time and just put it right on his TEETH!

It was kind of cute though how delicately he was licking the alum off Chula's ears.

My kids dont chew ears but sp puppies do tend to pull or hang on ears with wraps in them. Luckily I was able to stop Tana from doing it to Pagan cause at the time she was growing up Pagan was still in show coat. Now, with short ears I never have to worry. Pagan never pulls coat or mouths in play. Its only Tana that does that. I guess my next puppy will have trouble growing coat huh? LOL
