With Carlene's recent issues with Pearl and the worms, it seems worthwhile to consider discussing the topic a bit more in general, so maybe we can either learn a bit more, or refresh our understanding of dog worms and all that.
Afterall, any of us who have dogs long enough will encounter some form of parasitic worms, and understanding more about the different types of worms that dogs can get, the signs and symptoms, the preventions, and cures, are all well worth knowing. Warning- some of the images of these worms can be rather disgusting, so be cautious if you click on any of the following links. I did a quick search for some decent links on parasitic worms in dogs. Clearly, the most common worms are:
Roundworms, Tapeworms, Whipworms, and Hookworms. There are also Heartworms. Here are some links for basic information:
