We're temporarily changing the registration (sign up) process here on the forums. Rather than using the automated format, we'll be using a *manual* format. There are various reasons for this, but it's partially to prevent issues we've had lately with some bots and spammers. So, the automated registration method is disabled until further notice. To register here on the forums, you'll need to do the following:

-Send an email to either Zefi or Michael (emails below) from the email address you want to use on your signup (as we will send a reply to that email with the login details).
-Include your preferred username in that email
-Include a *small* bit about why you are signing up...either mention you have a poodle and want to participate in the forum, looking for a poodle, or just something. Anything that lets us know you are a real human being, and not just sending a blanket registration request.

So, you don't have to include much...just your preferred username in an email, along with a small bit about why you want to signup. If it looks good, we will manually signup the account for you, and send an email informing you of the details. The account will be automatically activated in the process, so you will not need to do that step now.

You can email either of us, so whichever you prefer is fine.

Michael: pages@eskie.net
Zefi: zefi@zefiart.com

If there are any questions on this procedure, or any questions on how to register, just send an email to either of us and we'll tend to it as we can. We hope this will allow potential members to signup without any problems. Thanks...

No need to rejoin for anyone already a member. This is for new members only... people who want to register. In the past you'd only have to request to join and then an admin had to approve you. However we've had lots of 'not real' new members lately - meaning a ton of registrations who are just spammers. This way, with a personal email request to join, we hope to get past that. Its no harder and no slower than joining any other list.

Yep, Zefi's right on all that. This is just for new members. All current members can post/reply/etc. as usual. And new members just need to contact us...we sign them up as soon as we are able, and then everything is good. Smile We'd switched to a similar method on EB as well recently, and it seems to be working well there, so we're hoping it goes well here too. But if anyone has any questions, they can contact either of us directly as well.
